As Janes grandfather had landed at Arromanche on D-Day this was our initial destination. He is 95 and still going strong so it was great to see where he had been and give us something more to talk about. It was a long trek down to Arromanche from our home in the midlands. We took the tunnel over to Callais then used the motorway down to Normandy. It was a memorable trip down none stop rain. We were very wet and very cold when we arrived. The bike looked terrible. We stopped in a fantastic biker friendly B&B. See www.normandybeach.co.uk for details. The owner was great, he even washed my bike for me |IMG Src='http://www.thunderbird1600.com/csp/thunderbird/Images/Emoticons/More/2.gif'> After seeing a few of the second world war sights. Pegasus Bridge etc we then moved up France to Dunkirk. Using this as a base we also visited Belgium. Places included Bruge and Iepres to name but a few. All in all a fantastic trip and cant wait to go again.

I may go there - if just to get my Bird cleaned.
